Our policy & couriers
Online orders are processed Monday to Friday between 09:00 and 16:00, excluding public holidays. Orders placed outside of these hours will be processed on the next working day.
We always aim to get orders out as quickly as possible. Dispatch times are dependent on stock availability, as some products in our range are supplied via trusted drop-shipping partners. Where stock is available and payment has been received and verified before 14:00, orders are usually dispatched the following working day.
If an item is not immediately available, our team will contact you with an estimated restock or incoming shipment timeframe. In these cases, you are welcome to:
• wait for the incoming stock,
• choose an alternative product, or
• cancel the affected item and receive a store credit or refund where applicable.
At Work Horse Tack, we strive to keep you updated throughout the process and provide the best possible service from checkout to delivery.
Online orders with a purchase total of R1,500 or more qualify for free shipping within South Africa, with select exclusions. Items excluded from this offer are heavy/bulk/bulky items such as but not limited to, saddles and saddle caddy purchases of any kind due to volumetric size an specialized courier requirements.
Our free shipping option applies to standard courier parcels only, with a maximum volumetric or actual weight limit of 20kg per order.
Work Horse Tack reserves the right to amend or withdraw the free shipping offer where courier limitations, remote areas, excessive volumetric weight, or fluctuating courier rates apply.
Work Horse Tack reserves the right to select the courier method used for all FREE SHIPPING orders. Shipping methods may include, but are not limited to, courier door-to-door services or Pudo locker-to-locker options, depending on parcel size, destination, and courier availability.

A cheaper and convenient courier option for smaller orders
PUDO (Pick Up, Drop Off) is a smart locker delivery service powered by The Courier Guy that allows you to send and receive parcels across South Africa without needing a physical address. It works through a convenient, app-driven locker-to-locker, locker-to-door, or door-to-locker system
We offer both the Locker to Locker (cheapest) option an the Locker to Door option
Just about anything we stock provided it fits in the selected locker size. See below for the locker sizes and their weight limitations.
If your order is larger or heavier than the locker option chosen we will contact you with a alternative delivery option and/or quote.
Note: As of 2026 pudo is phasing out some of its XL locker sizes.
Simply find your address here on the pudo website and search for your closest locker.
Once you have it add the full locker address to the “Pudo Locker Location” space at checkout.
If you forget to add your locker location at checkout we will choose the closest locker to the address provided in your order. You can also contact us to add it manually.
Your parcel gets 36 hours of Locker time. After that, it becomes “expired”, but don’t stress – TCG will whisk it off to the nearest Kiosk, where it’ll wait for you at no extra charge. If you want it sent to a different Locker or address, you’ll have to pay full price again.
Head to your chosen Locker once you get the whatsapp/email, touch the screen to wake it up, tap COLLECT, enter your PIN or scan your QR, and voilà – a door will pop open for your parcel. Close the door once collected and see the screen for any more prompts.
In theory you can but we don’t recommend it. Saddles need extra care when being handled and we have found that if they do happen to fit inside a locker they are usually being squished in which isn’t good and can damage it. So opting for the locker to locker or locker to door option with saddles is a gamble and we won’t be responsible if any damage is caused.
For anything to travel with pudo it must fit inside a locker compartment as seen under the “What can be sent with PUDO tab”
Sadly the Caddys are just a few cm to big for the XL lockers and being hard plastic there is not way to manipulate it into fitting like we can with other items – so sorry – these will have to go with courier.
We can, if the total weight and size of all the orders will fit inside a locker, if the threshold is exceeded we will have to quote on courier instead. All your orders will be repackaged into one box – PUDO does not allow multiple boxes in one locker.
Courier or a larger locker will also be quoted if the locker size chosen is much smaller than the item ordered.
i.e – don’t choose a XS-M locker for something that weighs 20kg – you will be charged extra.
We make use of trusted courier partners including The Courier Guy and Internet Express where possible and may utilise alternative courier services when required to ensure the most cost-effective, reliable, and efficient delivery solution for your order.
At Work Horse Tack, we are committed to getting your order to you as safely and quickly as possible, while ensuring your items arrive in excellent condition.
We aim to deliver your order as quickly and efficiently as possible. Delivery to most main centres and regional areas typically takes between 2–4 working days from the date of dispatch. Deliveries to rural, remote, or outlying areas may require an additional 2 working days, as certain locations are not serviced daily by courier networks.
Please note that delivery timeframes exclude weekends and public holidays and may be affected by factors beyond our control, including adverse weather conditions, strikes, route closures, peak seasonal demand, and courier operational delays.
To keep shipping as cost-effective as possible for our clients, all standard orders are sent via economy/road freight services. Should you require overnight or express delivery, please feel free to contact us for a tailored courier quotation.
Yes! Once your order is packed and collected by the courier, you will receive an email from courier with your tracking number and a link to track the order.
At Work Horse Tack, we aim to provide the most cost-effective and accurate courier pricing possible. Due to significant fluctuations in courier rates since April 2026 due to fuel increases, shipping costs have varied considerably. Each order is dependent on parcel size, volumetric weight, destination area, and the courier service available at the time of dispatch.
To avoid overcharging clients with inflated flat-rate shipping fees, or undercharging, all courier orders selecting the manual courier option are individually quoted once your order has been packed and measured. This allows us to secure the most efficient and affordable courier solution for your specific order.
Please note that larger, heavier, bulk, or oversized items may require specialised courier services and may therefore carry higher shipping costs. We are also happy to accommodate overnight or alternative courier requests where possible upon request.
Clients are welcome to collect their online orders by prior arrangement. As Work Horse Tack now operates exclusively as an online store, collection points and times are arranged directly with clients once orders are ready.
Please note that collections are only available once you have received your official order collection notification confirming that your order has been processed and is ready for collection.
